Have you been to Jessica’s blog yet? She’s the creator of How Sweet It Is blog. She posts great recipes and really often. Every time I stop by there’s a new recipe, with tons of photos, up and ready to be drooled over. I found this recipe for turkey burgers on her site. It was definitely a winner!
The burgers stay nice and moist and the creamy mayo is spicy and tangy bringing the whole burger together wonderfully. This mayo is also great for dipping french fries in. Also, great with tater tots…just sayin’.

Makes 4 burgers
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey breast
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 grated brown onion
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
3 green onions, thinly chopped
1/2 Tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1/2 Tablespoon white vinegar
1 Tablespoon sesame oil, or vegetable if you don’t have sesame
1/2 Tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, optional, but a nice addition
4 hamburger buns
Avocado, tomato slices and lettuce, optional toppings
Preparation Instructions
Combine all ingredients (except the hamburger buns) in a large bowl and mix gently with your hands until just combined – do not over mix.
Using the side of your hand, score the meat into four equal parts. Form turkey into 4 patties about 1/2 inch thick. Keep the edges thicker with an indentation in the center, this will help to prevent the burgers turning into meatballs.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and once hot, add the burgers. Cook for 4 – 5 minutes per side.
Toast buns if desired, then top burgers with mayo, avocado, a slice of tomato and crisp lettuce and serve.

AMAZING! We eat them in a whole wheat or a flax wrap with finely shredded cole slaw!
