I know a lot of people aren’t crazy about Valentine’s Day. I get that, I do. I, however, am not one of those people. I love having a day devoted to love. Going all out to show your love they’re loved is fun. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I also feel that every day should be like Valentine’s Day. We shouldn’t need a day to force us to show our loved ones we care. I get that too.
I am blessed with a family that loves to show they love. I am even more blessed to have a husband who isn’t afraid to show love. I feel very loved. I hope you do as well.
February is a big month for me. I am not only celebrating Valentine’s Day, but also 10/1. I love February. It is by far, one of my favorite months. It’s cold (in normal places, not SoCal - bleh), I’ll probably get some chocolate (fingers crossed), and it’s my anniversary month, which means my husband and I are on our best behavior…which means lots of extra smooches and kind words.
I want to spread some love today. I’ve listed a bunch of recipes you may find perfect if you’re feeling like cooking for your Valentine. Or perhaps printing out a recipe and slipping it under their pillow as a subtle hint.
Don’t be afraid to get caught up in all the love that seems to be going around these days. It won’t hurt, I promise. Don’t say there isn’t anyone special in your life, I assure you, there is. Have a younger sibling? Bet they’d love to hear you love them. Have a parent? Tell them you love them. Have a super special neighbor that you couldn’t imagine life without? Tell them how much they mean to you. It’s easy, just be like…”hey, you’re cool, glad we’re friends…can I borrow a cup of sugar?”
The moral of the story is this…we all could use a nudge in being a little nicer and showing people we care. I could certainly use a “gentle” reminder from time to time. It’s so easy to get caught up in the craziness of our daily lives we may forget to take a minute to say, “I love you.”
Remember folks: we can’t get yesterday back, today is almost over and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Make each day special.
If you don’t hear it enough, I love you. I love that you frequent my blog and leave happy comments. They make me smile. Thank you and I love you.
Happy Valentine’s Day peeps.
