Our Quest for the Best Burger in the Whole Entire World!

My husband and I have decided to find the best burger out there. We’re on a mission, and so far it’s been delicious.

giant-burgerBeing that we live in Southern California, there are several “staple” burger joints we will undoubtedly have to try; In-N-Out, Tommy’s, TK Burger and Five Guys. We will, I’m sure, find others, but for now, I feel this a good starting off point.

When I order a burger, I’m looking for flavor, texture, toppings, melted cheesiness and of course, fries. When my hubs will order a burger, it’s a simple “Ketchup only” situation. Boringsville. What are your favorite hot spots and how do you order your burger?!

We will do our best to be subjective. We’ve had burgers from some of the above listed restaurants before, but will try each as though it is our first time.
Enjoy the journey with us.

Okay…so far we’ve been here, here, here and here.

wow...that burger! If I had a burger, then remoulade would be the sauce for me.

In-n-Out is the best "chain" burger out there. We live in New Jersey, where there is no In-n-Out within 1000 miles. It's one of the places we hit up when we're on the West Coast. Try them "animal style" - delish! :o)

Haha I love your goal. I've only ever had in-n-out and five guys. Five guys beat out in-n-out hands down. But I can't wait to see what you think!

In N Out is my favorite. Always will be! But you'll also have to try Hole In The Wall in West LA -- they have this pretzel bun that's so good!! They make their own ketchup and ranch sauce, too.

There's definitely an In-N-Out theme happening :) People love their in-n-out!

Sounds like a fun project! I have a thing for veggie burgers. I've been trying to find the best recipe for a homemade version. So far, a black bean burger is my favorite.

Ha ha, I love that I had to scroll down to see this entire burger! My husband would go crazy for that thing. But yes, when you find your "ultimate burger", be sure to share it with the masses. I'm a big fan of Five Guys, myself. Happy burger hunting!

Have fun on your quest! I really like TK Burger and of course In & Out (I think that's a pre-requisite to living in So Cal, right?). The Counter is also really good. :)

Fun project! To be honest, I wasn't impressed with Five Guys, but they did have good fries. Since then, I finally tried In-N-Out while visiting friends in LA, but was (and still am) vegetarian. I got grilled cheese and animal style fries! The fries were a bit much, but I ate them all. :)

I haven't been to SoCal enough to try many places but I remember Father's Office's burger being pretty darn amazing. Thanks for your comment on my blog and happy burger-ing!

I am so excited to take this hamburger journey with you!! If you're ever in DC, you have to go to Ray's Hell Burger (President Obama even stops by!). It's amazing and has the best quality chuck that comes from their steakhouse Ray's the Steaks.

Holy Toledo...Holy Moley.... Holy heck! I'd have to unhinge my jaws to eat that burger. (make no mistake, I'd give it a try)

I lived in AZ just as in-n-out was coming to town but I never got around to trying it. Now I live in Boston, so I missed my opportunity. Best burger I've had around here was at a place called Boston Brickhouse restaurant...fantastic burgers but such lousy service we gave up going!

I love food quests! My friend and I have a Pizza Tour of NYC going. We've got 4 down and counting. So fun! My husband and I are thinking about starting a Burger Tour of NYC too!

Rachel- Nothing better than a NYC Pizza Tour. I'm super jealous :)! Let me know your favorite, I'll try it next time I'm there!!

Have you tried Smashburger? I love that place. It might be the smashfries though, they're delicious.
